Alex Merced

Born June 30, 1985, in Hartford, Connecticut to a Guatemalan mother and Puerto Rican father. These diverse roots and formative experiences shaped Alex into the friendly neighborhood tech geek he is today.

For high school Alex attended Howell Cheney Technical High School in Manchester, CT where he studied Microcomputer and was part of the Guitar Club,Mathletes team and STAR Robotics Club.

Alex started developing a sense for logical thinking writing scripts for the online RPG GRAAL and building small Role Playing Games with RPG Maker 2000. During this time he also starts learning web design with HTML and CSS designing fun fan sites for things like Dragon Ball Z on Geocities.

Alex's creative journey began with music. He played trombone in middle school before picking up the guitar in high school. This passion evolved into songwriting during his college years and early 20s.

Driven by curiosity, he taught himself music theory and production, producing several albums of electronic music. A mix of his guitar and electronic music in their original form can be heard below.

Recently, Alex has begun revitalizing many of his old songs using AI to see what full productions of those songs would sound like.

After graduation, Alex moved to New York City and became a trainer at Greico Financial Training. For over a decade, he taught economics and finance to professionals, honing his ability to break down complex topics.

Driven by ideas of pluralism and tolerance, Alex ran for public office three times to promote free exchange and radical tolerance. He served as Vice Chair of the LNC from 2018 to 2020.
