College at Bowling Green State University (2003 to 2007)

Alex attended Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, from 2003 to 2007.

He studied Marketing and Popular Culture Studies, which put him right where media and society meet.

WBGU-FM

At the campus radio station, WBGU-FM, he was a DJ and served as Promotion Director, running events and community outreach. The BG News named him in both roles in a 2005 story about the station renovating its offices.

Two businesses before graduation

He founded Fashionably Numb Music and The Gamers Lounge, a hobby gaming store he co-owned. The BG News covered both: a profile of Fashionably Numb Music, a story on students opening the shop, and a 2006 follow-up, "Game over for Lounge", that quoted him on the business.
